Flames & Timing
Serve at the right moment for up to three flames.
How flames work
Every dish starts with three flames. A missed toss costs one flame, two late tosses cost one flame, and serving outside the perfect window costs one more. A flambé gives one flame back. A dish never drops below one flame.
The perfect window is 2 seconds before to 2 seconds after the cooking time. Better dishes are more filling, you get more of them, and they make you Rested for longer on tatami.
