Sticky Rice grows like Rice, but has six growth stages and pauses at stage 2 and 4 until you fertilize it. Hungry plants look withered, give off ash and are shown in the block info as "Needs Fertilizer".
Use bone meal or Fertilizer on a hungry plant to wake it up. The first bone meal only feeds it, the next one makes it grow.
You get your first Sticky Rice as a rare drop from Wild Rice.
